Kleuster x Transpolis : a key partnership for your safety

Who is Transpolis ?

Transpolis is a testing and research center specializing in urban mobility, road infrastructure, and safety since 2018. Located 45 km from Lyon, this unique site in Europe spans 80 to 130 hectares and includes test tracks, crash test zones, urban and highway roads, as well as a full-scale replica city featuring intersections, winding roads, and parking areas.

Transpolis is truly a “laboratory city” which has allowed us to test the safety and reliability of our bikes under real world conditions.

Accredited ISO 17025 and officially recognized as a Euro NCAP laboratory for evaluating active safety in cars, van, and trucks, the center regularly collaborates with startups, researchers, and industrial players. It is therefore a key strategic partner for Kleuster.

The Kleuster 350 put to the test at Transpolis

It was in this high-level testing center that our team chose to put the all-new Kleuster 350 through its paces. Tested by Transpolis engineers, the bike covered several thousand kilometres over 8 weeks under intensive conditions.

Different riders with varied riding styles took part in the trials to best simulate the real-world, everyday use of our customers. The tests covered a wide range of scenarios : nighttime rides, rain, extreme heat, uphill and downhill terrain, cobblestones, and damaged roads.

Thanks to this rigorous testing protocol, we are proud to offer a complete, robust, and reliable product, no matter the conditions of use.

The Kleuster 350 is now the only cargo bike on the market to have been tested and evaluated in a full-scale, reconstructed urban environments by an independent professional center, a true mark of trust and durability for all demanding professionals.

Why test in real world conditions ?

When designing an electric cargo bike, it is essential to test it to evaluate its performance and reliability. These tests can be carried out in a lab or in real world conditions, two complementary but very different environments.

In a lab, tests are conducted in a controlled setting : measuring motor power, battery range, vibration resistance, and so on. This data is crucial for validating the technical specifications of the product.

But the true value of a bike is revealed when it is put to the test in real-life conditions. That is why Kleuster chose to test its new model at Transpolis.

Exposing the Kleuster 350 to a wide range of situations, including unpredictable ones, ensures that the bike meets the concrete need of its users. These real-world tests provide practical, meaningful results that help professionals make informed decisions when choosing their cargo bike, far more so than lab tests disconnected from everyday usage.
